POP TOPS
The one addition that makes a camper!
Adding a pop top to your van really does create a camper. Adding head height to your camper gives you the freedom to cook and live happily, without any back-ache from bending over. It also makes any camper a 4-berth, which is vital for many families.
OUR POP TOP FITTING PROCESS
These are the steps we take when we add a pop top to a van.
1
Initial Strip Out, Protection and Preparation
To start, we remove the headlining, front and rear, plus the wiring loom will be pulled away from the roof to protect it. We then cover the van interior and exterior, in order to start removal of the roof.
2
CUTTING THE ROOF OUT
Next, we cut the roof out with a jigsaw, after templating the roof. We then prime any cut metal work and prepare to fit the pop top.
3
Fit the Reinforcements
Next, we fit the pop top frame work, including the canvas plastics. These are screwed and bonded to the van, fitted to specified TUV and crash tested standards.
4
Fit The Pop Top
Finally, we fit the pop top and screw in the canvas. And then finally, carpet line the entire roof area.

A range of Skyline pop tops we have fitted over the last 8 years!
Why do we only fit Skyline roofs?
We only fit Skyline pop tops for many reasons. We have had experience with other brands over the years and have found Skyline to be very reliable, durable and strong. Skyline is a well-known brand and one of the longest standing pop top manufacturers in the UK. They often bring new ideas to market, that other companies then add to their offerings. This warranty is fantastic, the roofs are honeycomb moulded for strength and best of all, they are manufactured in Bristol too! We've been fitting for around 8 years and never once have we had a customer make us aware of any manufacturing defects or failures.
